What is PMFME?

PM Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, an initiative under Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, is being implemented by Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) with an outlay of 10,000 Crore over a period of 5 years from 2020-21 to 2024-25.


What are the benefits under the scheme?


1. Credit-linked capital subsidies to the individual micro food processing units at the rate of 35% or Rs. 10 Lakh whichever is lower of the eligible product cost.


2. For FPO, SHG, Co-Op. Soc the support will be provided for sorting, grading, storage and processing, packaging, marketing, processing of Agri produce, etc. For this purpose, a grand at the rate of 35% with credit linkage will be provided.


3. For SHG financial assistance given in the form as below;

Seed Capital- 40000 per member

Financial support- Grant upto 35% or Rs. 10 Lakh whichever is lower

Training and handholding support


4. Support for common infrastructure to FPO, SHG will be available upto 35% for incubation centre, common processing facility for processing one district one product produce, warehouse, cold storage, etc.


5. Branding and Marketing support to FPO, SHG, Co-op. Soc. any kind of training that is related to marketing will be fully funded under this scheme, marketing and branding supports will be provided for one district one product produce at the state or regional level.
